Do you want to make as many memories as you can so you can look back with a smile on your face? Here is a list of some tips and tricks to make the most of the last semester of your senior year!

For every sports player, there was a first practice, game, putting on a uniform and experiencing their first wins and losses. For lots of Owasso sports players, they played in their last games of their high school career in the fall, and for some the journey has come to an end.

It’s no question that significant arts made by Black people have had a tremendous impact on Black culture itself. Whether it be Kendrick Lamar, Langston Hughes or Louis Armstrong, all forms of art make their mark. Even here at Owasso High School, some of our own Black students are expressing their same love for the arts in many ways. So, in celebration of Black History Month, let's check in with some of these individuals.

Graduating from high school after twelve hard years of schooling is nothing to undermine. Getting your high school or GED diploma, however, can feel like a start to a completely new life.

If you asked most people, they would probably consider wrestling as a boys’ sport. One person that is trying to change that stereotype is Sidney Milligan, who has faced lots of discrimination in her sport. Being one of very few girls who wrestle is something that Milligan has to overcome, but she has definitely risen to the challenge.

In the span of two weeks, six girls on the Owasso High School swim team have managed to break every girls’ meter relay record in school history.

Mrs. Collins is one of two art teachers teaching art LIVE this semester at OHS. This is her ninth year teaching, but she has never experienced teaching an online class until this year.

“When you're not in the classroom setting and surrounded by other students in an art room, I think the challenge is motivation, for sure.” explains Collins.

“Soul” is the latest Disney-Pixar release. Disney-Pixar movies are renowned specifically for themes that breach the barrier from children’s movies to films with adult themes. “Soul” specifically takes this further than Disney-Pixar previously had.

2020-2021, The basketball season where every game could be the last of the season. For junior Karson Zumwalt, it is not her regular basketball season, and COVID-19 is not the only thing affecting it.

This year, despite all its challenges, another underdog has stepped forward—this time, a member of our Owasso band.

Cameron Jenkins’ has ran for Owasso Cross Country (XC) and Track since seventh grade but wasn’t a frontrunner. That is, until one race in his junior year, where he surprised many and had one of the best races of his life.

On January 20, Owasso is getting its very own Tropical Smoothie Cafe right off of 96th and 129th. Tropical Smoothie is becoming an increasingly popular chain in other parts of Tulsa, with lines almost always going out the door.

Music is meant to bring people together. It unifies them with its important messages and different rhythms, but can it also be what separates people?

The Owasso Rams football team has been more than outstanding for the past few years, since winning the state championship in 2017 and then again last year in 2019. It does not take just one player or coach to lead you to the amount of glory that the Rams have had lately, but it is evident that Owasso produces stars.

One of the many activities that Owasso offers to their students is the Academic Team. This is a club that meets after school every Monday and Wednesday. As the name suggests, this club is composed of bright students who work to expand their academic knowledge.

Owasso Varsity Pom (OVP) practices before the sun comes up, practicing from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. every morning, and on top of that, coming back for evening practices. All of this hard work goes forth to the amazing routines you see on the sidelines, at halftime at games and also during their competitions.

A lot of seniors are involved in sports and most are playing the last official games that they will play in their lifetime. This puts into the perspective how fast time flies for most, it also shows the lasting impact sports can have on you in your life.
