The entire student body gets hyped for the Mr. Owasso show each year, and the 2022 pageant was no different. The Owasso Pom Squad runs the annual show to raise money for their program, and it’s something to look forward to in the fall for many students!

The Owasso Lady Rams volleyball team has had a successful season so far this year. Last week they played in the Owasso Tournament and won, which boosted their confidence for the upcoming games this season.

Owasso’s Lady Rams Basketball team has been starting to piece together a very solid group over the past couple of years.

The Lady Rams’ golf team took home medals Wednesday, March 30 as they placed second at the Jenks Invitational tournament.

Both of the Owasso Varsity and Junior Varsity teams headed down to Florida for a couple weeks during spring break to face out of state competition. The boys went down with a hefty goal of winning the tournament, and they came away with exactly what they wanted.

On April 1 and 2, Mrs. Chatwin took the AP Environmental Science class on the long-awaited field trip to Alabaster Caves in Freedom, Oklahoma. The class enjoyed camping overnight in a cave, exploring three other caves, hiking, gorgeous photo-ops and much more as they ventured across the Northwestern sector of the state. 

Art students from Owasso High School recently submitted their work to the Philbrook museum, and many pieces are featured in the museum’s BIG Show exhibition. The installation acts as a means to inspire young artists and encourage further creativity.

On April 20, war broke out in the east gym. Dodgeballs soared through the air, indiscriminately pelting teams vying for the ultimate victory. Just one team would emerge as champions: Team ‘NNA.’ They celebrated their win with a victory lap, proudly displaying their massive trophy as they circled the gym floor.

Recently, Kendall Welborn and Will Ehrhart qualified for the National Speech and Debate Association championships following the 2022 season. They will compete as a team in Public Forum, a debate event based around hard facts and analysis.

On Saturday, March 26, the Owasso Winter Guard—part of the Owasso Color Guard program— competed at the Broken Arrow Winter Guard and Percussion of Oklahoma (WGPO) Regional Competition.

By putting themselves in harm's way, they provide daily help and assurance in times of crisis to those around them. In Owasso, first responders—both new and retired—work to take care of their community, prioritizing the people they serve above all else.

By breaking barriers faced by their gender, many women have achieved and excelled in their work, both in historic and contemporary society. Three of these brilliant women, through their contributions in literature, continue to empower the current generation as they empowered the women of their time.
