Evergreen Spotlight

In our growing city of Owasso, Evergreen Coffee Company has risen into a coffee megacorp for caffeine lovers all around to unite. From anyone looking for a breakfast spot or a study lounge— to a fresh way to start the morning, Evergreen has more than just coffee.

Opening its first location in the Redbud District in 2021, Evergreen has accumulated four current locations across Owasso. Having a location on 86th Street, near Owasso’s High School and Eighth Grade Center, several students and teachers have made it a priority to stop by before and after school. When going to Evergreen, I can’t help but notice all of the joy and smiles in the room. It’s refreshing to see something as simple as coffee bring such happiness. With Evergreen’s locations on 96th Street, 86th Street, Main Street and German Corner, the business has made sure to make themselves as available as possible for the citizens of Owasso.
Evergreen has a varying menu, which makes for a wide range of tasty and customizable options for varying interests. Some of their popular drink options include cold brew coffee, hot coffee, matcha, chai, frappuccinos and lotus energy drinks. Evergreen has tons of flavored syrups, milk types and drink bases, ensuring that there is something everyone can enjoy. If you need help figuring out where to start, the baristas always succeed in being knowledgeable and helpful with their suggestions, making their guests feel welcome and comfortable.
After talking with one special barista in particular, Zoey Carter, I can better understand how the original task of making drinks can turn into building friendships and creating quality memories. Carter has worked at Evergreen for about two years now and has glowed about her experience.
When asking Carter about her favorite part of her job, she shared she enjoys getting to see the regular customers come by.
Smiling, she highlighted one of her regulars, saying, “We have a guy who always tells jokes and makes us laugh.”
Carter continued by mentioning, “He always tells us how appreciative he is of us.” As Carter explained, customers like him elevate the barista experience.
With several great customer interactions, she happily talked about a large group that came in and how it made her day, saying, “One time we had a church group come by…there were about 25 of them, and we made their drinks, and then they asked how they could pray for us, and we prayed with them.”
She talked about this as a unique and wholesome experience that stood out as a quality memory.
Wrapping up our conversation, Carter said her favorite drink at Evergreen is a Macadamia Nut and chocolate cold brew with coconut cold foam.
To share the spotlight with some of my favorite drinks, I will first have to give a shout-out to the half vanilla chai, half matcha mixed tea topped off with brown sugar and cinnamon. The contrast of the cinnamon and ginger chai taste with the mellow grassy notes of the matcha create a beautiful combination.
Secondly, the Red Bull spritzer with a shot of vanilla stands out as a wonderful choice for a customized energy drink. Notably, the drink’s fun orange-red hue added a bright pop of color to my afternoon.
Lastly, the Almond Joy blended latte is another top choice of mine. As someone who loved the almond joy candy in my early childhood, this drink brought back nostalgic memories reincarnated into a new form.
Evergreen Coffee Company has undoubtedly earned all of its glowing reviews and high recommendations. Being local to Owasso, it’s exciting to see this incredible small business prosper and grow. From small roots to an Owasso exclusive franchise, I can personally say that Evergreen has made a positive impact that goes above and beyond coffee.
