Prom dress shopping

Scheduled for May 4th, Owasso High School’s prom is right around the corner, so it is time to start looking for the perfect dress. There are plenty of places to look for a prom dress, whether you prefer online or in-person shopping.

In-person:

Woodland Hills Mall is full of many stores that carry formal dresses. Although they may not have the most unique options, they are more budget-friendly than the average boutique. Shopping at the mall is also more convenient since there are various stores in one location. You can get your dress, shoes and accessories all in one stop.

Dillards has a wide variety of formal dresses with tons of different styles and a good range of prices. They have clearance dresses under $100, and even some newer arrivals that cost around $300. They do not carry the typical prom designers Sherri Hill or Jovani, which makes you less likely to twin with someone who went to a boutique.

Windsor has a smaller number of dresses to offer compared to Dillards, but it still has great quality for a reasonable price. These dresses are more simple and sleek rather than extravagant. It is definitely a place to shop for the elegant-clean look.

There are other stores in the mall, such as Macy’s or JcPenney, that have formal dresses to offer. These stores are perfect for prom if you are invited as a freshman or sophomore. By going to these small department stores, you can get a nice, simple dress and leave room to outdo yourself in your junior and senior years.

Glamour Gowns in Broken Arrow and Alyssa’s Prom and Bridal in Tulsa offer more high-end dresses. Alyssa’s has dresses from designers Ellie Wilde, Jovani and of course, Sherri Hill. These designers provide more lavish designs which come with a higher price. They have simple styles, big beautiful gowns and inclusive sizing for their dresses. If you go and see a style you love, but it just isn’t the right color or size, do not panic; these dresses can be ordered in the size and color you desire.

Online:

KissProm has many different styles of dresses available on their website. These dresses are offered in plenty of different colors and sizes. If you are unsure about your size because you were not able to try the dresses on, they have a sizing chart available to best determine your correct size.

Stacees is very similar to KissProm. They both have lots of unique dresses for a very reasonable price. Stacees also has a sizing chart for their dresses, and both websites provide custom sizing. Custom sizing means that you take your measurements at home and enter them into the site. They will ask for bust, waist and hip measurements to ensure the dress fits like a glove. Custom sizing is only a small upcharge of about $20, and it is well worth it since you are unable to do a try-on.

With prom season coming up, all of these places have beautiful dresses waiting for you. With retail, online and high-end choices available locally, there are options to fit every size and budget. For prospective high school students, the next step is to decide the best experience for you to find your dream dress.
