Stress and anxiety? Think again—as these are not feasible sentiments at Tulsa’s don’t stress meowt cat cafe. Located on the corner of 51st Street and Sheridan Road, this blended feline sanctuary and coffee shop hosts numerous drink and food options accompanied by 30-50 adoptable furry friends to pet while you indulge. I decided to take a visit to the newly opened establishment to truly experience the hype behind this revolutionary idea—and I have to say—I was not let down.
Upon entering the establishment, guests are welcomed into two distinct yet seamlessly combined environments: a welcoming cafe interior and a homey, glassed-enclosed zone where a surplus of cats roam.
People seemed to be dispersed throughout the cafe, with many surprisingly remaining in the seating area. I, however, was drawn to the feline frenzy that was the glass box home. Before entering the cat cove, guests are required to take off their shoes. An added bonus to the cafe is its integrated sock system, allowing guests to borrow fresh socks to eliminate the spread of hair into the main cafe.

It is safe to say that I felt welcomed. Greeted by at least 10 “meows,” I was able to find a seat on a comfy chair and watch around as kitties played and purred. At all times, there were at least three cats within a hands-reach.
The decor and layout of the enlarged cat home at don’t stress meowt cat cafe perfectly reflects feelings of tranquility and joy. The room is home to several cat trees, couches and bridges. Additionally, there is a railing that leads to an exercise wheel to ensure the cats maintain proper physical health.

Concluding my stay, I would say every penny invested into the visit was worth it. Although I spent the majority of my time in the cat enclosure, I could see myself coming back to more casually study as well as socialize with the cats. The concept of an already soothing environment that is a cafe combined with cats for comfort provides two different and efficient takes on relieving stress—something that is very beneficial, especially during the test-heavy end of the school year. I wholeheartedly recommend this building to anyone who doesn’t have a cat allergy and wants a way to tackle their built-up anxiety.
